Crohn's sufferer unable to get Colestid

Has anyone else had issues getting hold of Colestid recently? I have to take it as a Bile Acid sequestrant after bowel resection. Been taking it for about 20 years and there have been manufacturing problems before, but this time it seems to be ging on a lot longer than usual.

Anyone got any idea if the problem has been resolved? I'm starting to panic now, because life without it is unmanageable and might result in me being hosptailised and losing my new job.

From what I can gather its manufactured by Pfizer. Their contact number is 01304 656 221. Could you try giving them a call tomorrow to see if they can provide you with a bit more information? Is the pharmacy that you collect your prescription from not able to help you with sourcing any or contacting the doctor to arrange an alternative?

It's quite a common issue within pharmacy although that doesn't help you. Manufacturers are usually able to at least give a rough idea as to when the issue it likely to be resolved, or what to do in the meantime. I hope you manage to get it resolved.
