Sex after abortion!

Hi ladies. Last Tuesday I had what I guess you would call a sergical abortion because my baby was terminally I'll. I'm wondering how long I should wait before resuming with sex. There isn't much information online about conceiving after having an abortion due to medical reasons so I don't really know what I can do or when.
It's put me in an odd position, as you don't usually have an abortion if your wanting a baby. Please no bashing. My baby had anencephaly. Thank you in advance

Call the hospital that did the abortion and ask.

How far along were you? I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I have had an ERPC for a missed miscarriage which is a similar procedure and was told to resume relations when the bleeding had stopped and I felt ready. I stopped bleeding pretty quickly and I think we had sex about 12 days after the op. Good luck

Sorry you are going through this. When I had a termination, I was told to wait a month, but when I had a miscarriage we were not told to wait at all and I was lucky and got pregnant again straight away. I don't think there is any medical reason you should wait, so I don't know why there would be a difference.

There’s no hard and fast rule, just when the bleeding has settled and you feel physically and emotionally ready.
