Irregular Periods

I’m early 30s. Will my GP help me with irregular periods.

I am scared I’m going to go and waste their/my own time.

I came off the pill in March. Periods have been fairly regular til July. Get some cramping pains occasionally. Having some strange intestinal issues as well.
Any help or advice will be muchly appreciated

Its a good idea to get it checked out - can be a symptom of eg pcos. If you stopped the pill to ttc then definitely yes.

Go to the GP, you are not wasting their time by asking them about this. If for instance you are trying to conceive then having irregular periods can make this more difficult.

You need a diagnosis first and foremost. Such problems have physical causes; for instance problems with the thyroid gland can cause menstrual irregularity as can a condition called polycystic ovaries. Both can be looked for via blood tests. If your periods are irregular then such tests can be done according to calendar days; you can have a day 2 and day 21 test done.

Not TTC at the moment but scared for the (not too) distant future.

I just hope they don't poopoo it.
