I'm definitely not pregnant

DH had successful (according to tests) vasectomy 2 years ago and I've not had sex since my period finished last week. I've also taken a pregnancy test because I'm so paranoid. It was negative.

So why do I feel the constant nausea day in day out very similar to that of when I had hyperemesis in both pregnancies? It's been a week now of unrelenting nausea. From the minute I get up in the morning to the minute I go to bed. I have a hacking cough and we've all just recovered from colds but it's the nausea I'm struggling with. Only slightly better if lying/sitting down and resting. Both DDs (4 & 2) have had a single vomiting episode (Friday and Monday respectively). Both are pretty chirpy if they have what I have. I did have a high temp and shivers Weds/Thurs but that passed.

Is this a virus that's going round? Is there anything on earth that would make me feel better? It's hugely debilitating. I feel dreadful. Thanks for listening to my whinge.

I had this 2 years ago... constant nausea like morning sickness. Had loads of blood tests , scans etc... eventually had an endoscopy because I had lost weight ( mainly because I just couldn't eat as a result of nausea) they found that I had gastritis and an erosion of stomach lining. Had to take these awful tablets to reduce acid in stomach . When nausea was really bad Gaviscon double action liquid really helped. I wondered if it was linked to perimenopause as it seemed to coincide with my period getting light and shorter. I am 44... how old are you?

  1. To start with I thought hey at least I'll lose weight. But a week later and I'm feeling wrung out.

I've had something similar for past couple of weeks. Cough, nausea, achey, much better now though, but have developed a massive cold sore up my nose. Lovely.

Glad you're feeling better. Maybe only another week to go then...
