Coil and bleeding - Anyone else have experience?

Had the mirena fitted over a year ago. Doc 'lost' the strings so I've never been able to check it.

I used to get a short light period every few weeks however I haven't stopped bleeding / spotting for the last two months or so.

Has anyone else had this or know if it can happen? I am a bit disappointed tbh. It was great at first (after the inital bleeding).

Have you had a scan to see f coil still in places? If not maybe it's gone and normal periods have resumed.

Thanks bimbo I think I'll get an appt with my doctor to find out what's happening. I wouldn't mind if it was just a period but this has been nonstop for around 2 months. A scan is probably the way to go.

Definitely get to your doctor. I'm 4 years into my mirena, hated it for the first 9 months. Been stringless for the past 3 years and have had a couple of scans to see it's still there.
Will enjoy my last year of being period freeish until I need to get a procedure to remove it. Not looking forward to that
