Dealing with effects of R-CHOP chemo

My brother (he's 50) has just had his 3rd cycle of r-chop for NHL.
It's really hitting him hard at the moment with bringing food up, horrific body pain and today sheer depression.
He's not talking or willing to eat anything. His stomach bloats up ridiculous yet his face has become shockingly thin. I know that's 'normal' with chemo - feel so helpless not being able to help him or do anything to ease the effects.

Anyone been through this who might have helpful tips to offer? Would be so grateful for any advice.
Thanks!

Hello there! I saw your post yesterday. Sorry l didn’t reply - was hoping someone with more direct experience/knowledge would answer. All l’d say is he should have a number to call, possibly a specialist chemo nurse. I think treatment for NHL can be especially brutal but he shouldn’t be suffering in silence. If your brother is too low to ask for help, you could contact them yourself with your concerns - it’s just due to confidentiality they won’t give you info on his care but you’ll be able to make them aware of how things are. Ditto re-your bro’s GP.

He should also have a next appointment at the clinic. If he wishes, can someone attend with him? I am sorry you’re going through this. It must b very hard for all of you, not just the person it’s the diagnosis.

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

Yes he has a number for the ward and Macmillan - except no one works at the weekend.

He's back in hospital with an infection he's picked up so hopefully he'll feel a lot stronger again with antibiotics and an iv drip.

Thanks again
