Anyone had a suspect mole removed?

I have been to see a dermatologist about a mole on my toe - referred by my podiatrist and gp and the dermatologist wants to remove it as she was concerned about its shape and colour.

What I want to know is what happens and how long it should take to heal. Thanks

I have had a couple of dodgy ones removed. Local anaesthetic, takes about 10 minutes. They do take out quite a chunck! A have scars each a couple of cams. Heals in a week ish. The process is nothing to worry about.

Thanks for that. I am not worried but the doctors were concerned. The mole is tiny but the dermatoligist said it was best to remove it while it was small.

My friend had one removed yesterday. I went with her. Was very straight forward. Took about 10-15 minutes altogether. The doctor told her there and then that he was 99% sure it wasn't cancerous but have to send it for tests and she will hear in couple of weeks. Hers was on her chest. About half a cm round. Reason they removed it was because it had gained black dots (doctor seems to think it's just a normal change). She currently has a plaster thing over it but she said she thinks there's only about 4 stitches in it that are dissolving ones. So no need to go and have them taken out.

I've had two removed, they weren't dodgy. They were on my face. The worst bit was the needle into my face, ouch. But other than that, not an ordeal at all.

I imagine if you have them elsewhere it's a lot less of an ordeal, having an injection in your face is rather more unpleasant than it would eg be in your leg or arm.

I have slight scars but nothing very noticeable and much better than the moles were!

I had one removed from my foot. It wasn't painful but I wasn't allowed to walk properly on it for a few days. Had a funny something that made me walk on my heel and not put any pressure on the front of my foot where the mole was. In reality it was more like a week before I was walking normally. But it healed up fine, tiny scar. I had stitches that needed removed but that wasn't painful either.
