Advice on chronic pain

Hi!

First post here, just hoping someone out there has some advice..

I am 29 weeks pregnant (yay!) however I am really struggling with a painful chronic condition called costochondritis. I know some people develop this for a small bout of time in their pregnancy but I have had this for 20 years and I'm starting to struggle with the pain. I currently see an obstetrician every 4 weeks and I am under a pain clinic who have said if the pain progresses morphine would be the 'best' painkiller to use (I know- the face I pulled in the docs room confirmed his thoughts that I was not happy to do this). I currently take cocodamol as and when needed and use a heat pack which barely helps. I just wondered if anyone else has chronic pain or if anyone out there has this condition? also it's really panicking me about giving birth because even though I know labour will be painful I don't think I can contend with that pain and labour pain :( I'm just fed up. In pain. And tired. Any advice guys?
