Finding a Private GP

Does anyone know the best way to find a private GP? This would be to replace an NHS one so full shift of all medical records.

I'm struggling to find anything sensible on google and wondered if anyone had some words of wisdom.

Maybe it depends where you are? Some NHS GPS also take private patients but my guess is that you want to move from your current one. I would ask your current gp though. The local private gp is all over Google, what are you finding?

Private GPs are usually pretty easy to find on Google. I suspect they're more popular in some places than others. They do sometimes work out of local private hospitals so might it be worth calling your nearest BMI/Spire/Nuffield hospital to ask if they know their way around local private GP services.

Are you in London OP? My previous employers have used Rood Lane who have offices around Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf.

Your NHS records won't be transferred by you can ask for a summary printout usually for free or a full copy for a fee.

Click yes London, Old Street area.. Do you know if they were any good?

Problem with the google search is that you have to be very specific in the search criteria otherwise it pulls up a lot of NHS GPs as they are actually private practices! Not helpful.

hiya thanks for that. Once I find a practice I'll get a copy of my notes.

Yes - I thought they were excellent. I had private medical insurance through my employers for years and used Rood Lane GP services several times. Professional, appointments thorough and not rushed, ran on time, easy to get an appointment, slick offices. Hope that helps!

When I lived in London I regularly used Blossoms Healthcare. They have offices in the City, West End and Canary Wharf. Their GPs are excellent, they have time to talk through symptoms, options etc and any diagnostics are super fast (same say bloods etc).
