Bleeding after sex

A month ago I had the implant fitted. Had no side affects from it and all going well so far. Last night we had sex and immediately noticed some pink discharge on wiping (sorry-tmi). Today I've had heavier darker blood loss. I'm thinking it's just a period type thing started as a coincidence after sex. DP wants me to pop to the doctor to get checked out. Do I really need to go (it would mean time off work I can't really afford). I was going to keep an eye on things first and see if it happens again before starting to worry.

I'm in my early-mid twenties so the chances of it being a bad thing are vanishingly slim, right? And I had a clear smear test only 3 months ago.

I think if I were you I would keep an eye on it. If you have bleeding after sex again then I think a trip to the doctor is definitely required.
I haven't had an implant - got a Mirena - but I don't think sporadic bleeding is uncommon.

Not necessarily, bleeding can just be spotting if you are on that sort of contraception.
If you are at all worried then perhaps you could phone your GP and ask if you could have a telephone consultation with your GP to talk it through and that way you could avoid taking time off work - assuming you could find somewhere private for a phonecall.
