Hello!
I'm hoping you lovely people can help........so last Saturday I started getting back pain out of no-where, within a few hours I was in agony and has a few symptoms of a UTI, got to see an unfriendly out of hours doctors who said I had a kidney infection due to the location of the pain and having protein, blood and leucocytes in my urine and prescribed some antibiotics called CefALEXin, 500mg 3 times a day.
Ended up back at the urgent care centre after talking to my GP on Monday as they pain was still very bad and was told no sign of anything in my urine so the antibiotics must be working and sent on my way with naproxen - apparently stronger than nurofen but it didnt make a difference.
By Wednesday I was still in a lot of pain so went to see a urologist who advised to stop the naproxen as they aren't ideal and requested a CT Scan which came back as showing no kidney stones but inflamed kidneys.
I'm now on day 6 of the antibiotics and whilst I have no UTI Symptoms or a temperature, I still get cold sweats at night and constant pain in my back - lower down on the right side and then higher up across both sides. I had a physio check who said i still have a full range of movement and its clear it not muscular.
Surely the antibiotics should be working by now or should wait to complete the full course which will be tomorrow much time?
Opinion appreciated!
Thanks
