Cerazette, please help!

I have struggled with PMS all my life but since having my son it got a lot worse, very heavy periods and anxiety, horrible mood swings even around ovulation and it came with the added bonus of IBS.

I decided to try cerazette as other kinds of pill haven't agreed with me and it has helped the IBS and the heavy bleeding but right now I'm experiencing my first monthly on it which is incredibly light so that's great but I feel awful, really intense anxiety and depression.

I've only been taking it for just less than two months and I know they say to give it three and I really want to if I can.

Has anyone had experience with cerazette? Was it worth sticking it out past the three month mark?

I couldn't find one so maybe I am being dim but is there not a sub forum for PMS/birth control options ect?

I feel exactly the same on any progesterone only contraception. you are not alone! i am a completely different person on it. I cant handle cerazette at all.

question - why stick it out? really?

what else you have tried for PMS? I am much better on the combi pill, no depression or anxiety. You need to go back to your doctor.

I utterly hated Cerazette. The absolute worst for exacerbating my pre-existing anxiety & depression, plus I had constant bleeding, really painful cramps, acne and pms. After 2 months of he'll I refused to take it any more

I'm on the coil now and it's been AMAZING! It's either eliminated or eased all of the above

*hell

I've been on cerazette for years and it suits me fine
I used to have awful periods both physically and mentally but now I have no pain or bleeding and although I do feel slightly " low" once a month it's nothing I can't cope with

I was forced to go on it due to major issues with my period last year. I kept being told that it was worth giving 6 months to get it to kick in. I was completely psycho on it. I bled daily between January and July.

Lots of my friends have had positive experiences with no periods but it really didn't help me.

I've now had surgery to help with my periods and would be glad to never ever see it again. I should have come off it sooner.

I started it earlier this year for a myriad of worsening PMS symptoms and by month 3 I was ready to jack it in, I was bleeding and spotting almost constantly but after the third month passed this suddenly stopped and it's been fine ever since.

Ok so I've had to stop the cerazette, the anxiety and depression were very intense and it's not like I'm a stranger to mental health problems but this was just something else!

I've been on microgynon and Yasmin in the past and got on better with microgynon, I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and need to look at my options before then.

I've been put on this as my implant has run out (due to have it out this week) and whilst I wait for my sterilisation referral.

It's awful, my moods and anxiety (which have been horrendous on the implant) have got even worse. I just can't wait to be done with the whole damn thing tbh.

I don't know what else to suggest OP because I always get the worst side effects of every contraception going but others have suggested the Mirena coil as reliable?

I think I am going to go down the natural route and forgo all birth control. I did this for over a year before I had my son and I was in a good enough place to plan a child so it must of been working. Yes the PMS is worse and has brought some new friends to join the 'let's make your life miserable' party but hopefully it works as well as last time.

The plan is Agnus castus, b vit complex, magnesium, calcium and cod liver oil.

I really hope it works! So so sick of PMS dominating my life!
