Pain from steroid injection?

Dalesgirl16 · 20/09/2017 16:35

I had a steroid injection in my foot a week ago for pain I've had in my foot for months, don't know why,. I now have severe stabbing pains in the foot from injection! I'm icing and taking naproxen twice a day. Has anyone been through this after injection? Still in pain from it after a week?? :((

Is it for plantar fasciitus or the tendon on the side of the foot. I have had multiple in both feet. Last steroid injection into my plantar on left foot 2 weeks ago and it took at least 10 days to kick in.

No it is for pain on front of foot that extends round both sides! They called it complex pain syndrome. Were you in pain from the actual injection too? This is pain from the injection now - searing, stabbing pain for a week now. Just want it to go so I can even know If the pain I had before has gone (doubtful it will work I was told):(((

Yes I was in pain from the injection. I have had injections on the side of my foot too. Have you seen a physiotherapist ?

I had one in my hand for carpal tunnel a couple of years ago and it hurt like a bastard for ages.

Google Steroid flare should settle soon

Dalesgirl16 · 20/09/2017 21:54

Thank you, I did Google it loads but it says everywhere that a flare up can take three to five days, mine has been a week already.I cried on phone to gp who has prescribed what more of what I already have. Naproxen x2 daily and co hydramol in between. Even with that it still stabs and stings. I was supposed to have first physio yesterday but I'm in so much pain I postponed it to next week. I see the consultant again next week to see of bloody injection worked or if I need to see an anaesthetist. Really need it to get better even from the injection so I can do physio, I have barely moved in months apart from caring from my baby.
