I have had several very painful periods with a temperature. Not every month but about every 3 or 4 months.

I use a mooncup and the periods are quite heavy ie can be full within 2 or 3 hours.

I have had a scan and been told I have some small endometrial cysts, but the doctor doesn't think I have endometriosis. She thinks my problems are premenopausal.
I asked for a referal but the gyneacologist only seemed interested in me having a mirena coil.
In the mean time I was given menphemic acid for the pain which sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't.
Also Duphaston for 10 days a month which just seems to give me fairly bad side effects, ie sore boobs, food cravings and weight gain, and it makes me very tearful.

I suffered like this on and off for years, and was also given mefenamic acid. I know exactly what you are going through and I quite often was sick, fainted and had to take time off work. I never really found out why I suffered so badly, but since having my ds I have not been like that once. Just a thought, but I also found out after having ds that I had a thyroid problem ( underactive) and am now taking thyroxin and which has corrected that problem and I wonder the two could be related?

I did have my thyroid tested but was told it was normal, but I wasn't actually given the numbers.
