Blood stained nipple discharge... so scared!

Hi all, I am new on here and just really after some advice/support/opinions! I'm a 33yo mum of 2 and for the past year or so I have had a brown/red coloured discharge from my left nipple. I never really took any notice of it at first as I never realized it was actually coming from my nipple and thought I was just a klutz who kept spilling things and staining my tops, but after buying some new, light coloured underwear I have discovered the stains on the inside of my bras. Went to docs on Friday and I have been referred to the breast clinic. I am so worried and am constantly checking for any lumps and now I have found one in the lower half of my left breast. I occasionally get an aching feeling in that area too. Now when I raise my arm and check in the mirror I think I can see a little dimpled area. I really am no sure though as I could just be paranoid and imagining things. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and if so what did it turn out to be? How long did it take to get your appointment? Any advice please, thank you!

Hello.

First. Stop panicking. And do try not to google (easier said than done but you know what I mean).

My right nipple started oozing bloody gunk back in about February. (Also have a v small dent underneath) I went to the dr who referred me straight to the breast clinic. It's classed as urgent so you should be seen within a few weeks.

Once at the clinic I had a mammogram (I'm over 40. I think if you are younger they might do an ultrasound scan instead). Which was looked at straight away and that was clear. And they sent off some of the gunk to be analysed.
Back to the clinic a couple of weeks later for results that just showed blood cells and nothing nasty.

However consultant said she could remove the ducts just in case or wait and see and review 3 months later. Which is what I went for.

Went back in August. boob still oozing so I'm now waiting for my ducts to be removed. Probably next month.

Dr wasn't massively concerned. She said it has the potential to turn nasty so better out which suited me as it does worry me (I am a massive hypochondriac and always think the worst).

Sorry. That was a saga. Hope it helps a bit and good luck!

Thank you MOIST, this has put my mind at rest a bit, I have googled (I know I really shouldn't, but it's like that massive sign above the button saying do not press!) A lot of what I have read says it could be a duct papilloma so fingers crossed it is nothing too worrysome. I would definitely have any removal treatment the docs suggest and not leave anything to chance. Good luck.

If its any consolation my daughter had something very similiar to this,it turned out to be harmless, cant remember what it was called now,but i think she had a biopsy to be on the safe side, it was benign anyway ,and apparently quite common
TRY NOT TO WORRY TOO MUCH

Thanks lovemylover that is definitely of some consolation. It's just the waiting for the appointment that is the worst!

How have you got on OP?

I had bloody discharge as a one off 7months ago. Had an ultrasound 6 months ago and they saw nothing.

I'm also having the let dowb reflex feeling and shooting pains in the same breast. I had a follow up last week and the consultant found nothing. I'm going for the follow up ultrasound this Thursday. I'm freaking out to be honest. I'm 34.
