3yo DD with achy tired legs ...Growing pains ?

My dd has been complaining for a few weeks now of 'my legs are tired' and I'm wondering if this could be growing pains ?
We've been backwards and forwards to the doctors about 5 times in the past 2 months as she's had an ongoing cough. We've been given an inhaler to use but not sure how effective it is really.
I'm just wondering if it's all related or whether she's just experiencing some growing pains. The doctor said it could be or it could be general aches from not feeling herself. Great help ...
She is very, very whingey and we know that she's not like this unless she feels unwell or not 100%. She repeatedly asks me to carry her but if we are out and she's quite happy with whatever we are doing this request is asked less often.
She's had a bit of a cold and we've had 2 days of a temperature reaching 40.
Because it's chicken pox time I'm also wondering if she might be leading up to 'spots', is this a possibility? There are no signs at the moment and as far as I know we haven't been in contact with anyone who has developed it.
The whinging is incredible! If her juice botle is more than 2" away from her she'll whinge 'My juice bottle, I want it" or if she drops a bit of food or water on her clothes you'd think she'd been dipped in a vat of gunk as you get 'Oh no, mummy I'm wet, take my top off'.
It's funny now I can see it written down but when it's 24/7 and I have a stinking cold too and pigging hay fever (tree pollen), it's not much fun.
Anyone any experience of this ? Hopefully the whinging is just a phase as she's just hit 3.
She is also drinking a lot of water ....
Normal diagnosis from the doc is 'It's probably a virus' .

I'm going through this too with DS1 - also 3 - I started a thread on it about 3 weeks ago, which you maybe able to dredge up, which had some really helpful posts. The pox may well have something to do with it - DS1 has just had shingles and apparently it gives pain in the sensory nerves and certainly the growing pains got a LOT worse just before his rash.
