DS had his EEG this morning to try and determine his "starts". They had him blowing a toy windmill type thing as quickly as he could and he actually had a "do" Seemingly it's text book reaction for epilepsy. Not sure how I feel as I had known deep down that this is what it was. Just need to get consulant appointment now and the ball rolling for medication etc.

Feel a little bit weepy at times as I just hope his "starts" stay just these little ones and don't turn into full blown seizures

haven't read any of your previous threads but it's good you now have a diagnosis. The medications they can give for epilepsi are generally very effective, and many children do grow out of it as they grow up. My bil was severely epileptic as a child, but when he was 14 he stopped having fits and hasn't had one since - he's now 33. to the extent he's now in the police force and when he had his medical he had to have a EEG or something similar and the consultant said there was now no sign that he has ever had epilepsi and that he has now outgrown it totally.

Not heard anything from consultant yet and we are going away tomorrow for a week. Fingers crossed there'll be an appointment waiting for us when we get back.

Update- Consultant's letter waiting for us. EEG shows a tendency for seizures and the video we managed to get of one in the car looks def like a tiny seizure.

Appointment on Wed so will know more then.

Bethron, how did your DS react to epilepsy medication? Was he having severe seizures?

Anyone out there who has any experience of smaller seizures (think it's known as myoclonic ones DS has) please share any info with me!!
