Is this something to be concerned about?

I'm currently ill with what seems to be a very nasty virus. It started yesterday with a throat like I had swallowed razor blades, and a general feeling of being unwell. In the night it ramped right up to a very high fever, confusion, bad headache, pains in my body. I was awake most of the night and by this morning I was in tears from the pain in my head and hips area.

I have ongoing back issues so I assumed that the tossing and turning through the night was causing the hip pain and took some tramadol (prescribed for me obviously) to try and enable me to get some rest, with paracetamol to bring down the fever. The tramadol has not actually sorted the hip pain and now I'm less confused I can tell that it is nothing like my normal pain associated with my back. This is a new pain that has come on with the virus. It is acutely painful, and I'm used to pain. It seems to be coming from the hip joint. Should I be concerned or is this quite normal for a nasty virus?

I think you need to see a GP as it could be septic arthritis

Oh goodness that is very scary. The gp releases the afternoon appointments at 1.30 so I will call then. Thank you.
