Ds is extremely chesty again atm.

So I said to dh this morning that I was worried, esp. as we're going away this Saturday.

Says dh "It's only a cold, with the girls we wouldn't even have bothered."

FFS IT IS NOT A COLD his son is on three different bloody inhalers, Singulair, and basically has taken antibiotics since BIRTH, but this is dh's standard response number 1 - complete denial.

So I pointed it out to him that it is not a cold (in as restrained a manner as I could(

So next dh said "Oh all right then we can't go away then"

Which is his standard response number 2 - go completely the other way.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!

s'ok. Men are infuriating, He is perhaps in denial cos he can't fix it. Men hate when they are helpless!!

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 10:11

Sounds like he wants to get on with things, despite ds being ill, ie going away, and sees you voicing concerns as trying to get out of it, hence the man tantrum, "oh we just wont go then". mine does it too.

MadamePlatypus · 04/04/2007 10:14

i know how annoying that "ok we'll have to cancel everything unless you are a proper mother and do your usual wand waving magic spell thing and solve the problem" response is!

I am sending you a cyber nice hot bath and scented candle.

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 10:15

MP, what like this

Tommy · 04/04/2007 10:18

my DH does this too - it's all or nothing - nothing in between. It's so frustrating

Hope your DS is feeling better soon emkana

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 10:21

I just look at him like this and tell him not to be such a fing drama Queen, which he totally is!!! It usually works, then we sit calmly and discuss things properly.

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 10:21

Em, are you still there????

emkana · 04/04/2007 19:03

Sorry BoB I had to go.

Dh is just being an arse again, see AIBU thread...
