Is it possible to have a painful ear from swimming just a few hours ago?

Went swimming this afternoon, ds loved it (he's 19mths) but now he's sobbing and sobbing and keeps holding his ear.

Could it be from swimming? He did have a few waves splash onto him.

my ds get loads of ear infections when we go swinmming.Haven't noticed it happen that guickly though. Has he got a tummy ache?

No I don't think he has a tummy ache but he's still sobbing bless him. Doesn't want milk or dinner - just cuddles.
