Reckon this is my kidneys?

Three days ago I started getting the odd shooting pain in my right flank. Yesterday from my back on the same side below my bottom rib, sometimes round to the front of the pelvis. Not agony but enough to catch my breath when it did happen. From last night I have a dull pain in the middle of my back. No other signs of UTI, I have had many in the past so well versed on the symptoms of them. I felt very off yesterday and not 100% today but could be coincidence as all dc have colds.

I do have chronic lower back pain anyway but it does feel higher up than usual like an achy nag. That isn't saying much though as it does tend to spark off different aches and pains for a few days elsewhere.

Would you in this incidence ring the gp for an emergency appointment today? I hate the thought of wasting their time or being told it's related to my usual back pain.

Sorry you had no replies OP, how are you today?

Was a bit stingy going to the loo last night so drank a gallon of water before bed and feeling much better today. I'm on certain meds that can affect the kidneys and liver, thinking making an appointment for function tests wouldn't go amiss. Especially as my gp has never done one but chucks more drugs at me. Thanks for the reply Smile

I know how you feel - I take meds that can affect kidney function too, and the slightest twinge has me panicking about long term damage. Despite regular bloods tests and no real symptoms! Glad you're feeling better Flowers
