Pain in one breast for weeks

I've had a pain in my right breast for a couple of months.. It wasn't too bad to start with but now it can be quite bad. So much so that it feels like it's burning at times. I had a good feel of my boobs and the only thing I can feel is a lump in my arm pit on that side.
I have said for a couple weeks now I'm going to make an appointment but it's my very busy time at work now and i was struggling for time.
I don't think it's caused by my cycle as it feels totally different to that kind of pain which I don't get much of anyway.
Any ideas? Does anyone know what the doctor will do? I'm not overly worried or that just want the pain gone.

The gp will most probably refer you to the breast clinic due to the lump in your armpit which may or may not be related. You do need to get it checked. Breast pain in itself is rarely anything sinister but the lump needs checking out.

I actually have felt a second lump in the same arm pit a little closer to my breast. Another pea sized one. Doesn't hurt at all. I've to phone tomorrow for an appointment with my usual GP. I meant to say the original lump is still there and I've been aware of it for a couple months but the second one I just found yesterday.

Hope you get a gp appt easily. If you say you have found a lump in your breast presumably you'd be seen asap. Then a two week or less wait for clinic appt. I had similar earlier in the year - one sided pain and a small lump and it was 10 days from seeing the gp to clinic appt so all over very quickly. For me the pain was unrelated to the lump which had actually gone by the time the consultant saw me. And I was told in a roundabout way that I'd have to put up with the pain and hope it went away Hmm.
