UTI help

Woke up this morning in worst pain I've ever been in, thought I was dying tbh and after some googling was convienced I had a kidney stone, all the water that I drank I vomited up and could barely move off the floor.
Went along to doctors and managed the tiniest pee in the world so that the nurse could dip stick it and she said I had a UTI, gave me antibiotics said to ring back after two days if it didn't get better.
Taken one antibiotic so far and trying to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice but keep vomiting it back up, managed to have a couple of tiny pees but clearly vomiting most of it out, pain in back is still horrendous and basically haven't moved out of the empty bathtub since 3pm as everytime I sir/stand I want to collapse or vomit.
I have asd and get very confused about stuff like this where there is no clear define path about what is the correct thing to do, should I wait until the morning to go back to doctors/follow their advice to wait 48/or should i be going to out of hours about the fact I can't really keep liquid in me and only getting the tiniest pees from pushing very hard.

That's long, apologies Blush but just don't want to waste nhs time but also don't know like how I should be feeling right now should i be feeling better from the one antibiotic or be worried about the lack of fluid.

That doesn't sound good at all.I'd be quite worried about potential kidney issues with that much pain (I'm not a medic mind you, so don't panic). Have you called 111?

Call 111 for advice.

In the meantime switch to drinking a few sips of water with squash or sugar in it every 5 minutes instead of acidic cranberry juice, far gentler on the stomach.

Call someone who can help you, friend, family, partner as you sound like you are at risk of falling if you try to get about on your own.

Run a small warm bath that covers your lower abdomen and see if the warm water will help you urinate in the bath. Only do this if you are not on your own in the house.

See if you can get some pain relief to stay down.

Hello op
You poor love uti's are horrible, you won't feel better after one tablet no it takes a few days before you'd see a difference. However it worrys me that you can't keep fluids down which is why you may be feeling faint, you really should see somebody if your not passing urine and your not keeping fluids down as you don't want to become dehydrated too as that's whole new load of issues. Your gp or walk in May be able to give you anti sickness to stop the vomiting, and pain relief.
Don't wait if you feel that bad get it checked out uti's are nasty and I don't envy you.
It may also help to get a heat pad or hot water bottle to ease the pain.
I hope you get well soon, please go you need fluids to go in and more importantly come out again if you get me. you don't bladder retention too.
Go to walk in, it will get better x

I'd phone 111. And the whole cranberry juice thing is a myth, it's medically proved to do nothing. Just try lots of little sips of water. You're dehydrated, and that's what is making you feel so ill. What antibiotics were you prescribed, as chances are you've not kept them down? It takes at least 48 hours for them to start to work, so don't panic.

Keflex is the antibiotic going to summon up strength to ring 111 I find phone calls very stressful, will I likely be kept in overnight (i.e. Should I pack a bag?) or I duno

Rang 111 waiting for a call back in the next two hours

111 rang back quicker then I expected them to, nurse told me not to come in and just continue drinking water and take tablets tomorrow Confused so I guess that's my plan, no idea how I'm going to sleep but will come to that later!
Thanks for all the advice everyone CakeFlowers

How are you feeling this morning, OP?

QuagganLife · 06/09/2017 13:01

Went to sleep in the bath, after drinking as much water as I could, some of it got vomited back up though. And woke up at about 4am and managed to pee, not pushing and not just a trickle, a proper wee, I have never been so excited in my life over a pee! pain is still horrendous but feeling much better about the fact I was able to pee as that was one of my biggest worries the fact that nothing was coming out, my throat is awfully raw from all the vomiting but been able to have a tiny bit of toast and drink this morning and haven't vomited yet so hopefully on the mend. Thank you all again for advice last night CakeFlowers

Try some potassium citrate from the chemist,im going through the sae thing,3 days of ABs and not a lot better, but this stuff helps i think
I was in pain last night, thought my bl;adder was going to burst, better this morning, but might need more ABs,after sending a urine sample in, just waiting to hear,
