Vaccinations whilst pregnant

Peckhamite · 05/09/2017 13:38

I am 8 weeks pregnant and due to be travlelling to Lebanon in a fortnight.

Advice is no vaccinations are 'required' but tetanus, Hep A and typhoid are recommended.

My doctor has been rubbish with advice and basically left it to me.

Is it safe to get these vaccines at this time?

I think the general rule is avoid 'live' vaccines, unless the benefits outweigh the risks, and not live vaccines are pretty safe. But please speak to your GP, practice nurse, or midwife. If your GP is being unhelpful speak to another one, or make a consult appointment at a travel clinic.
