In brief:

I'm 50. Feel 90.

Can barely move most of the time. Feet, knees, hips so painful.

Swollen ankles and tender Achilles' tendons.
Point of joints feel bruised.
Hobble everywhere 😟

Been diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency and prescribed weekly high dose pill.

Waiting for result of blood test for lupus.

Could cry. So tired of being in pain 😥

Sorry. Just wanted a little whinge.

Sorry you're in pain op, could be inflammatory arthritis? I've got psoriatic arthritis and I had joint pain all over, Achilles tendinitis and bruise type pain where the muscle joins the joints (and enthesitis).
Might be worth asking to be referred to a rheumatologist.

RockinSushi · 05/09/2017 00:29

Apparently arthritis/rheumatism was one of the blood tests and it was normal 😏

Hi rockin
take really good notice of that Vit D deficiency diagnosis.

A severe deficiency can cause all sorts of problems.

You did not mention what your blood level was measured at. OR what dose you have been prescribed.

Because your Vit D is low , you should try and boost it to levels above 100 nmol/L or more. ( nmol/L, is the UK measurement - asssuming you are in the UK ? )

Have a read of this thread .... and see if you recognise yourself there. Many people with Vit D deficiency... what their symptoms were , what doses they took , how it helped.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2421492-Vitimin-D-can-it-have-this-effect

It is a long read , but lots of useful information .

    here is another thread ...

It explains why Vit D deficiency may cause such problems that you describe.

  I hope that is helpful,

              best of luck .

If you need any more info , then please get back to me . I have posted quite a bit here on Mumsnet about Vit D , just search my nick.

Thank you BTBH! 😁

I'm on 20,000 whatevers a week.
No idea what my levels were.

Thing is I work outside and always forget sunscreen 😳 So you'd think I'd get enough vitamin D!

My husband had bad joint pain in legs. He had been warned to expect arthritis after bad RTA in his 20s. Any hoo, at 53 he was diagnosed with severe vit D deficiency being investigated for recurrent infections.

Six weeks later, after high dose vit D, he suddenly noticed most of his joints had stopped hurting!

Icantstopeatinglol · 07/09/2017 00:11

Hi op, I've got psoriatic arthritis and my bloods are always fine. They've diagnosed by joint pain and seeing swelling in my toes etc. Don't rule it out.
