Problems with teeth

I had a deep filling put in 6 months ago on a back tooth, I had a white filling and after lots of pain and sensitivity the dentist replaced it a month ago with a silver filling. There's still some pain and sensitivity but less than before. I've been having trouble with the emerging wisdom tooth on the same side of my mouth, but on the bottom row. I'm now on my second course of antibiotics in a month and so far they've not done much to calm it down. I've had wisdom tooth flare ups for years and they've always settled with some antibiotics, salt water, corsodyl etc. This flare up is really persistent and showing no signs of moving.

Could the tooth with the deep filling be infected and causing the inflammation on my wisdom teeth? Even though it's on the top row near the back and the bad wisdom tooth is on the bottom? They're both on the same side of my mouth. Would a root canal on the filling tooth be likely to sort out my wisdom tooth?
