Cysts on scalp

I have a couple of cysts on my scalp that don't really bother me as they aren't visible as they're under my hair but are growing in size and sometimes hurt-they are about the size of a large marble; only half is sticking out above the skin though. I've hadn't them for years-one seemed to burst about 10 years ago and loads of icky stuff came out but since then it has refilled!

Has anyone had anything like this removed? Would I have to pay for this and would lots of hair have to be shaved??

Sebaceous cyst. Very common and harmless, so hard to get done on NHS these days - unfortunately.

I have one and its annoying me. It was looked at years ago by doc who said probably cyst. Its getting bigger and sometimes tender. Want to pop the fucker!

Mine popped on it's own, talk about cake batter in hair.
If it does pop you need to get the get the sac out, or it refills.
They can regrow even if you get it cut out.

I had one about the size of a large marble (a 2er if you were involved in the marble craze of the late 80s!) on my scalp. I occasionally caught it when brushing my hair which hurt but otherwise didn't bother me.

One night I got pissed off with it as it was getting bigger so (and this is pretty gross FYI) I got a needle and some tweezers. Dug a small hole in the top with the needle and saw some white pus like stuff but like solidified pus. I pulled that with the tweezers and this solid round ball of white stuff came out. My scalp pinged back flat and I could even see where it came out. It's never come back.
