Has anyone used cannabis medicinally?

Just that really. I know it is legal in a few states in America so I'm interested to hear whether anyone has used it and found benefits for long term diseases such as Parkinson's Disease. I've heard of cannabis oil being used but would smoking a joint or eating laced brownies have the same effect?

Can't answer your question about different/same effect. DH has recently started using the oil for his CRPS and has reported no improvement whatsoever, sadly.

I've heard big things about cannabis oil tbh, ranging from cancer cure in a dog to endometriosis relief.
I use cannabis regularly for anxiety issues too.

The problem with a joint or brownies is, you might feel less pain but you also might be a bit "out of it". I believe the oil has the psychotropic effects removed. Not tried either for pain relief though sorry!!

My close relative has multiple sclerosis. They have issues with spasms in their throat and tongue which causes high anxiety. The only way to ease this has been through cannabis, the cannabis oil through medical trial didn't touch it unfortunately, so it's back to use of the plant.

Thank you for your replies. It sounds like it's a bit hit or miss with oil or herb and mixed results even then. I guess I'm just clutching at straws to try to find something to relieve the discomfort (not me, but family member). Sad
