Carpal tunnel surgery

I've recently been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my dominant hand and the splint I was advised to wear seems to be making things worse rather than better. I've been told I have slight damage to the muscle and nerve in my wrist so I will probably have to have surgery so it doesn't get worse. Can anyone give me an idea of how bad the surgery and recovery is and if it managed to solve the problem for you? How soon could you drive and use your hand normally?

Didn't want to read & run however going through this myself at the moment.

Doctors have prescribed me amitriptyline which makes me feel like a space cadet 🚀 however helps with the nerve pain. Have a strap too but have taken the metal insert out as it makes it too painful.

Hope all goes well for you ☺️

My mum had carpel tunnel surgery in her dominant hand at end of July. Driving after 2 weeks and back to office job after just after 3 weeks. I don't think she had much pain from it, just a lack of strength for a bit.

Op only lasted about 15 mins too.
Good luck Smile

That's good that she could drive after 2 weeks, I was expecting much longer. Hopefully I'll heal as well as your mum did
