Feeling a bit desperate

Any advice hugely appreciated. For the last almost 4 weeks I have been having kidney and abdominal pain. Had ultrasound which didn't show any stones and have had no urinary symptoms. Pain in side has eased off but replaced by upper abodominal pain and pain in back and weirdly in boobs. Had tests on heart all fine. Thought tummy pain could have been due to severe constipation due to codeine but is still going on even though I have stopped taking codeine. Still quite constipated and very little appetite. Keep thinking I'm feeling a bit better then pain in top of abdomen starts again, goes through to back. Living on paracetamol and Buscopan. Due a CT of kidneys can I ask them to check my whole abdomen? Also get random stinging type pains on back and abdomen and in.pelvic region. Pain was initially in left side and had weird numb feeling over rib which has since resolved. Spending a lot if time in bed as feel so rough. Low level nausea off and on but not sick. Wrong side initially for gall stones. Can't see my dr again for a week feel desperate. Not gynaecological as have had hysterectomy. Any suggestions appreciated as tired of feeling so grim and feel drs at a loss. Not convinced kidney ct will show why I'm getting discomfort in top of abdomen. Sorry for the essay Blush

That sounds awful op.

When is your ct?

In your shoes, I would try and get emergency appointment with gp, tell them pain has moved up, and ask for full abdo ultrasound. A pain through to the back could be related to pancreas. I am not a hcp though!

Hope you feel better soon.

Waiting for an appointment at the moment. Apparently blood test hasn't shown anything to be concerned about. It seems to be the fact that I've had kidney symptoms and now more abdo symptoms that seem to be throwing them and I seem to be falling between two stools. Thankyou for your reply.

I had awful around in my boobs with gallstone attacks, have they ruled out gallbladder problems? Back pain etc is also common with them.

Brownsauceandsausages · 28/08/2017 20:59

Your doctor might suggest a thorough abdo and an endoscopy/colonoscopy to rule out anything sinister. My IBS (used to be called spastic colon I think) presents with same symptoms as you have and pain high up under left rib. Good luck.

Brownsauceandsausages · 28/08/2017 21:01

Btw, if your blood tests have come back ok then it is unlikely to be anything sinister, but reassuring to check it out.

Pannalash · 28/08/2017 21:04

I'm beginning to wonder if I might have gallstones as well Trinity.

Have had a colonoscopy before brownsauce but dont fancy an endoscopy Sad would a full abdo ultrasound show any problems up?

Can I ask why you had a hysterectomy?

Pannalash · 28/08/2017 21:10

Interesting your pains on the left hand side Brownsauce did you also get it across the top of your abdomen? This is new for me started as a weird pain and stabbing feeling in my left side of tummy and in kidney at the back and has moved up Sad

I had a hysterectomy due to cervical abnormalities ohyoubadkitten.

Not sure Pannalash but they always seem to start investigations of this sort with an ultrasound. Sorry. Should have been "thorough abdo ultrasound" before.

Pannalash · 28/08/2017 21:19

I presume it was only kidneys and bladder looked at during ultrasound I'll ring and ask tmrw.

I very much appreciate you all taking the time to offer your advice.

I was asking in case it was endo, I wonder if you might have adhesions though.

Pannalash · 28/08/2017 21:35

It's funny you should say that Kitten as I did wonder about adhesions re the lower down pain round my tummy and side. This pain across the top of my abdomen only started after I got severely constipated on the codeine but the pain does go through my chest and to my back. Have had heart thoroughly checked.

If its left sided pain and upper abdomen and back, sounds like stomach acid. Did anyone prescribe omeprazole to try? You can get it over the counter now too.

Pannalash · 29/08/2017 16:57

Thanks Sadie
