Lower back pain

I felt a twinge in my back getting into the car Monday night past and woke Tuesday morning barely able to move.
Pain is in the small of my back, very painful and difficult to get into over bath shower, particularly for left leg. Difficulty walking moving dressing etc.
Heat pads are helpful and I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Pain worst in mornings, performance to roll out of bed which eases throughout the morning. I feel much improved each day by about 2 and then in evenings it's very much in the background only to waken for a repeat the next morning.

I have had some similar pain off and off since having a c section 17 years ago but this is the worst and most prolonged episode yet.

Any advice please?

Sounds like could be slipped disc but I am not a GP just have a bad back. Mostly they resolve in about 6 weeks but I'd go to GP for an examination - if it is this he will only give you painkiller advice as they "wait and see". Good luck!

Take Ibruofen if you can as it is an anti inflammatory drug.

Get heat packs/hotwater bottles in use especially over night (helps to open up the muscles).

You can get freezing type treatments and if you use these spray onto the area after a shower/bath as your pores are open and it really hits in.

Get to a physio or similar to get some treatment and exercises to do at home.

Keep gently moving about (complete rest will seize up muscles)
See a pilates teacher who specialises in back pain for exercises

See Dr to get onto list for NHS physio etc as you might need a scan and in our area it can be a lengthy wait.

Thank you allypally99 and Pancakeflipper.

It's slighter better today, I went into town and walked (cautiously) about for a while. Have twinges in my hips and left leg. I feel like a tight moan but I've honestly not had back pain this bad or prolonged before.

I bought a hot water bottle, more heat packs, deep heat rub and voltarol rub. I know I can't use these all together though.

Will try to get a doc appt Tuesday, as they're closed for the bank holiday Monday.

When I had back pain like this I actually had a kidney infection...

Put some blankets down and sleep on the floor. Has helped me.
