Just thought I would share this and maybe help someone.
This morning my DS sprayed an Air Wick air freshner in his eyes. I phoned NHS 24 and they said if he was not ok in about 10-15 mins to take him to A&E.
Well I hate hospitals and wouldnt normally go unless he had a broken leg or the like (you get the picture).
He stopped crying and seemed ok. DP decided we should take him anyway 'just in case'
I felt like a complete fraudster walking in, as DS was now happy and laughing etc.
Anyway, they tested his eye and it was very acidic. They had to flush it twice (not pleasant). If I hadn't went in (which i wasn't going to) his eye would have definetly been damaged.
His eye wasn't even pink or irritated looking.
So please BEWARE, especially when it comes to their wee eyes.

Bugger! I wouldn't have an Air Wick in the house though, in fact several of us Mumsnetters will never look at automatic air fresheners in the same way again after this

Hope he feels better soon.

LOL thats a different use for them.
He has ointment for his eyes at the mo, needless to say, he does NOT like me near his eye just now.
I thought I would be chased out the hospital for time wasting, just goes to show!

Oh no, that's noxious stuff in those air fresheners. I'm amazed people use them, you could just, you know, open a window or stop farting quite so much

hoolagirl · 31/03/2007 21:52

I don't fart honest, its DP ......
