Can teething cause an all over body rash, but very bad round mouth?

All of a sudden DS, 18mths has come up in a rash all over his body. Have done the glass test so don't think it's anything too serious. His temp is normal and he seems ok apart from being a bit drowsy. The rash is a lot worse round his mouth so am wondering if it could be teething as his bum has been a bit sore past few days too.

It sounds like you should get him checked out by a doctor. I have not heard that teething can cause a rash.I think the general consensus regarding teething is that pain and redness of the cheek is normal. Other symptoms are not probably down to teething and need to be checked out.
It sounds more like a viral rash to me.
Maybe ring NHS direct to put your mind at rest.

If he's been dribbling more due to teething then that can cause a rash around his mouth however it also sounds like he could have reacted to soemthing new he has eaten maybe? I know tomatoes used to give my dd nappy rash and a rash round her face when she got them round her mouth.
