Ovulating mega early

I'm not ttc but been off hormonal contraception for 5 months so I'm trying to get to know my body (after 13years of either being on the pill/coil or pregnant). All my cycles have been different in length each month from 22-27 days. Today is only cd8 and I'm sure I've ovulated (gush of watery mucus and ovulation pain). Is that normal?? I really miss the regularity from the pill but they have my bad headaches.

Should add, periods are 4/5 days.

These days my cycles are short like yours and I also seem to ovulate quite soon after my period - no idea why. The start of aging? I'm 34. Sorry not to be able to help, but just wanted to say you're not alone. For me the cycles are shorter and ovulation sooner in summer than in winter. This has been going on for a few years. No idea why. I do have possible PCOS and don't know if this affects it (a few androgen readings are off and I have some cysts, acne and male pattern hair growth, though normal testosterone, estrogen, etc).

Hi OP, it's still early days in terms of coming off the pill so could just be your body regulating. I've always had short cycles since coming off the pill (around 25 days) and always thought I ovulated really early (around cycle day 9 if discharge and ovarian pain anything to go by.) However when DH and I started ttc properly and I used ovulation predictor kits I found I was actually ovulating several days later than I thought. Your symptoms might be pre-ovulation rather than the day itself.

Thanks. I'm looking into trying the nuvaring as it looks to have the lowest oestrogen dose than any other option as well as giving regularity again.
