Itchy calp, but ds has no hair, is this cradle cap??

My ds has been itching his head for the past few days but he hardly has any hair so what could have caused this. I thought cradle cap was a bit like dandruff but there is nothing on his head, what can it be and what can I do. Any one familiar with this, help??

Does he have older siblings? Who might have given him headlice.

Otherwise, perhaps he's sensitive to the shampoo? You could just wash with water, or not at all for a few weeks, to see if it settles.

You can normall see cradle cap and it isn't itchy IME.

Thanks spidermama, i don't think its headlice as he only has a mop of hair in the middle everywhere else is bald and it is his bald crown that he has been itching. I have started to use t/gel shampoo when the itching got bad and this has reduced the itching in the morning, but I have noticed that he is itching it in the evening and forgetful as I am, have just realised today is friday so wont be able to get to the drs surgery till monday, poor ds. Any other suggestions out there?
