Splitting Nails

My nails started growing ridges and splitting so I started using Boots Nail Strengthener. They immediately felt a lot better but after using it for about a month they are now much worse and the splitting is quite bad.
Has the strengthener dried them out further? It's a bit annoying as the product was supposed to help the condition not make it worse.
I'm now suspicious of all the nail strengthening products out there.
I'm generally in good health and moisture them lots.

Nails with ridges are splitting are often (but not always) a sign of vitamin deficiency, so although you're in good health I'd check over your diet to see that you're getting all the vitamins and nutrients you need. A good multivitamin and fish oil supplement can be good (omega 3 also very good for hair and nails).
No idea of your age but sometimes ridges are unfortunately down to getting older and are harmless.

In terms of helping your nails going forward, cuticle oil twice a day will give your nails the moisture it needs. OPI Strengthener tends to have good results ...or a similar good quality brand definitely shouldn't make your nails worse.
