Sinus infection

At what point does it warrant a GP appt?

The amount of luminous stuff coming out of my nose is truly impressive, my face is swollen up and throbbing and my head is aching so bad that every time I move my head or stand up, it feels like someone is whacking it with a hammer

I'm typing this with scrunched up eyes because the light is hurting me, the only pain killers that are kind of helping are co codomol

I don't want to waste their time but equally feel that this is now possible an infection and will need AB's

It's been going on a week and a half, the headache is a new revaluation over the last day or so Confused

Have you steamed your sinus? This was the turning point when I had really bad one last year. Steaming hot bowl of water and a few drops of olbas oil. Cover your head with a towel take in as much as you can. If that doesn't help, then maybe visit the GP

I would see the GP, you possibly need antibiotics

PuppyMonkey · 19/08/2017 11:49

If it's an infection, you need antibiotics.

PuppyMonkey · 19/08/2017 11:50

Sounds like classic sinusitis to me.

tigercub50 · 19/08/2017 11:54

Sinusitis is horrible - I had a bout at the beginning of the holidays & haven't felt so ill in a long long time. Antibiotics worked like magic!

MrsPringles · 19/08/2017 12:08

Right, I'm going to try and get an appt for Monday.
This pain is now intolerable, i'd take labour over this. My GP are shockingly bad though, the lines open at 8am, by 8.10am they've all the appts are gone.

If all else fails, DS has a appt on Wednesday that I booked 3 weeks ago that is for something non urgent so if I can't get one, I'll nab his appt. If it gets worse, I'll think about OOH

The only time I told the doctor he HAD to give me antibiotics was for a sinus infection (he wanted to leave it)

I said I was on the verge of murdering someone the pain was that bad Grin
