Fed up with periods!

Can anyone advise me as to what I should be doing.... I'll put down as much info as I can!

  • my periods started when I was 11, very frequent, was given some kind of hormone to regulate them. Periods were heavy and a week long.
  • I,ve always had a lot of hair, and spend half my life plucking my neck!
  • problems with spots as a teen, got out on the pill when I went to uni aged 18, this regulated my periods and I had one a month,
  • I steadily increased in weight, found it really hard to not gain weight, was switched onto cerazette and periods stopped (yay!)
  • discovered I had type 2 diabetes, which I was put on metformin for (about 4 months) - lost a shed load of weight, came off the metformin - I also started doing low carb
  • tested for pcos, I have all the symptoms but apparently didn't have polycystic ovaries and I never really found out the results of the blood work, as the doctor left the clinic and I just fell through the gap!
  • my periods have returned, initially infrequently which was OK(ish) but I've now settled into a routine of basically one week on, one week off - this is very wearing
  • I saw a doctor for something else and discussed periods a bit, he mentioned that women with pcos tend to find that they don't have periods which stop on cerazette (whereas lots of women find their periods stop) and having frequent bleeds on cerazette if common in women with pcos.

I am just fed up and not sure what I should do next. I don't want the coil (I don't want some kind of device that I have to root around for and check every month). Should I push to be reinvestigated for pcos. Switch pills? Take the metformin again? Put back on 5 stone to stop my periods again (joke!)?! I'm fed up of never knowing when I will start a period, I get no warning at all.
