Dental surgery waiting time

What is the waiting time for dental surgery given that my present dentist has referred me on to have a tooths root extracted?
I am on immune suppresent medication. My rheumatologist says I should not take my next(immune suppressant) injection until I have the root extracted. I have been given no date for this dental surgery. Without the injection I will become more and more immobile with increasing pain and stiffness. With the root in situ(as is now),I am told I am more prone to infection.
What to do? Book in advance for my GP to give me additional analgesics and sleeping tablets to that which I am already prescribed. Book in advance a bag of antibiotics? Have I to wait until I am housebound to receive any priority in having the root removed?
