DS 20 has been suffering with this for two years. He is v clean, showering at least once a day. No sport but quite sweaty, slim.
Have tried Gold Bond and other lotions and potions. Any ideas?

I suggest he sees GP as they can prescribe stuff

Is his underwear a high cotton content?
Also is he drying himself thoroughly before dressing?
My adult son recently informed me he had the same problem, quite pleased he feels confident to confide in me! He used Dakatort cream and that sorted it.

TeenageWildlife · 16/08/2017 23:58

Yes to cotton and drying. Will investigate the cream, thanks

Does he have athletes foot?

If so, it's possible that he's putting his underwear on over his feet and transferring it up the way.

The GP will be able to prescribe stronger antifungals, and also double check that it is actually jock itch. Swabs can be sent to confirm.

Will pass on all info. Thanks awfully

Is Gold Bond the same as Daktarin Gold / Daktacort cream , if not try that .

hairymuffet · 19/08/2017 21:45

Diflucan tablet from chemist

hairymuffet · 19/08/2017 21:46

Why is he sweaty?
Is he diabetic?

PigOnStilts · 19/08/2017 21:50

cut out sugar!

Maverick66 · 19/08/2017 21:55

I also recommend Dakatort cream.
Also is Ds on any medication? Could this be causing sweating even an antihistamine?
Only use cotton underwear and wash underwear at high temp with a nonbio powder.

FadedRed · 19/08/2017 22:02

What Maverick said, and with NO fabric softener/conditioner, and preferably tumble dry (without those scented sheet dryer thingies).
