How do I go about changing Paediatrician and/or getting a second opinion?

Hi, can anyone offer some advice on how I go about changing the paediatrician we are seeing for my ds?
We're not happy with the way things are progressing; particularly the lack of feedback and contact from him and would like to see someone else.
Does anyone know how to go about it? Do I need to go back to my GP?

Thanks

I have no idea at all I am afraid, but didn't want this to go unanswered. I would say your GP as a first point of call, if they can't do it for you they should know how you would go about it.

Hopefully someone else will come along soon who knows more

what about your health visitor mine was constantly on the fone to hospital to get answers when ds was getting tests and we were getting nowhere

Is there someone you particularly want to see rabbit.

You are entitled to a second opinion Just go to your GP and ask them to refer you.

As far as feedback goes - do you get copies of the letters that are sent from him to your GP after each clinic visit? Ask to be copied in on the correspondence.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll speak to the GP tomorrow-I had a brief, very unproductive, chat with the receptionist today, hence my post, but I'l try again.
We do see the letters but we've been trying to get some information on my son's tests and no-one even bothers to get back to us. I know they're busy and have hundreds of people to look after but this has been going on for months and we get the feeling they're just hoping he's going to get better by himself!
Thanks again
