Athlete's foot or eczema?

Hi

Last week I discovered a small crack in the skin under one of my toes. Didn't think much of it. It was a bit umcomfortable so I put on some Savlon and a plaster for a couple of days and it seems to have healed up.

Yesterday I discovered a crack in the skin between 2 toes on the other foot Confused I have taken up swimming recently at the local community pool, which has me thinking I may have picked up Athlete's foot but Dr Google suggests it may be eczema. Can't say I've noticed an itch, just discomfort. Especially after my shower this morning! 😣

Has anyone experienced similar? Would it be wise to slap antifungal stuff on?

I have this at the moment and I'm treating it as eczema. I've had eczema since I was born and I think this is the only place I haven't had it before! I've also had athletes foot in the past and that has been very itchy compared to what I've got now. My eczema is more just cracked skin which is painful if left untreated, rather then itchy.

If it's only between your toes I'd assume athlete's foot. Get some stuff from the chemist (specific to athlete's foot) and it should clear up very quickly.

Confused see, so much confusion! I also thought if it was Athlete's foot surely it would be more itchy? I have had eczema on and off before which I have known to become quite sore.

My first thought on mine was athletes foot because of where it was so I used my spray and it didn't work which is when I realised it was eczema. I've been using my prescription Betnovate on it and it's cleared up one patch - unfortunately it then started in another area! Having had both, I know the difference between athletes foot and eczema and mine is definitely eczema and I'd say that's what yours sounds like.

Thanks Vq

DP did some googling yesterday and made me soak it in apple cider vinegar which burnt like hell. But it hasn't got worse. I bought some spray earlier to treat athlete's foot. If that doesn't clear it, i'll speak to my GP in case it is eczema.
