Update on DH

I thought thatI should really give MN an update on Dhs health.

He has now started round 5 of his chemo. The doctor is very plaesed with the progress he has made (unsurprising, given that many of the medics thought he would be dead by now!)

He gets very tired, but is still not in pain (thanks to some amazing high tech patches). He isn't feeling sick and has now put back over 40 of the 60 pounds that he lost.

Doc feels cautiously optimistic that dh should 'aim' to live to at least xmas!

We have an easter break booked and one at whitsun, and today I started booking stuff for the summer.

Things are as good as they can be

Oh and the hot tub is in,. and is utterly fab!

Thank you again for all your great kindnesses

Blandmum · 29/03/2007 19:08

pointydog · 29/03/2007 19:09

don't forget to draw the blinds then

ssd · 29/03/2007 19:11

great news MB!

DrMarthaMcMoo · 29/03/2007 19:12

I think of you a lot - it's lovely to have an update with such excellent news. I know you hate it when we go on about how brave you are but, bloody hell, woman, talk about turning the negative round to the positive: you are really making the most of every minute you have left together and packing so much in. Long may it continue.

Twiglett · 29/03/2007 19:12

Hurrah .. well done that man and medical science

I am so pleased MB

a hot tub? I thought this was a virtual plaything .. I didn't realise it was RL ..

GibbonInARibbon · 29/03/2007 19:13

Great to read MB

and hot tub

lemonaid · 29/03/2007 19:15

Great news! It's marvellous to think that you have a good chance of having him for another Christmas.

Blandmum · 29/03/2007 19:16

nothing virtual about the hot tub twig. I am the talk of the estate

Don't worry though, we have blinds.

the kids love it and it is V relaxing at the end of the day to have a nice hot soak.

Dh alsways wanted one, and we have cashed in some of his pension to enjoy now!

Will be in it tonight, with dh, mil and glass of bubbly. But nowt funny going on you understand!

fairyjay · 29/03/2007 19:17

Good to hear such positive new from you!

I'm very jealous of your hot tub

Blandmum · 29/03/2007 19:17

PS really. really not brave

Brave is when you have a choice

We have no choice.

Everyone on MN would be the same. Carpe Diem

OP posts:
fairyjay · 29/03/2007 19:18

At least, not while mil's there!

pointydog · 29/03/2007 19:18

talk of the estate?

they must all be able to see shadows behind the blinds. Chinese puppet style. They're providing their own voice overs.

aol · 29/03/2007 19:19

Do you remember that story about the baying aristocrat and her orgies in the hot tub (don't dare google it)? That wasn't you was it MB?

Twiglett · 29/03/2007 19:19

does it make you frisky then?

do you purposefully sit on the bubbles and try to avoid MIL's eye?

Blandmum · 29/03/2007 19:21

dunno, going in it with MIL will be a whole new thing tonight, so I will let you know!

It just rather sinfully relaxing if I am honest. Not frisky making. More like you feel after a damn good...................................................................................................................................

back rub!
