Treatment for ear piercing problem??

I have had my ears pierced for about 20 years and never once had a problem with them. But the past two days I have had slightly sore and crusty skin around the piercings in both ears. Anyone any suggestions on how to treat this at home? It's just the front of the lobes around the piercing not the back.

I have been wearing some gold earrings I've had for quite a long time so I know this isn't caused by metal, I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant so I suspect lowered immunity has a part to play. But just wondering what I could do to try and address this. I'll probably try and visit a pharmacist for advice as soon as I'm able.

I would just bathe them with salty water and perhaps buy some hypoallergenic ear rings. I know my ears are best with silver or the titanium that they were pierced with so a change of ear ring may help.

Do you have loops or danglies which don't have any kind of butterfly or back?

Try dipping them in vodka and inserting them. Also rub a little vodka on the holes.

Then give the earrings that you've been wearing a good clean. Use a sonic cleaner if you've got one, or take them to the jewellers for professional cleaning. Or just scrub with washing up liquid and an old toothbrush, if they're not hollow or full of fiddly detail.
