i never had stitches with child birth but on monday i had to have an emergency procedure which has left me with 6 stitches. (they seem to be mainly inside)

ive been bathing twice a day but today they feel really tight and are pinching a bit.

is that normal as they heal? when will i be able to forget they are there?

all looks ok.....neat and tidy even. i just keep getting the odd itch where the stitches are which i assumed might be normal for healing - kind of like when a wound scabsan gets a bit itchy? the stitches are just inside the vaginal opening so hard to see. i cant see more than 2 but i know there are 6.

Back when I was stitched after episiotomy I suffered the tightness and itching, they were supposed to be dissolvable and the best thing ever was when the midwife snipped them.

no one is going to be checking mine tho dp did offer to snip them if they are uncomfortable.

My stitches 'down there' have been incredibly itchy as the healing process begins and the dissolving starts. After both births and subsequent operation.

Definitely get them checked. After childbirth, my dissolvable stitches never dissolved. They felt tight and spiky (because they were so dry) and the feeling of having them removed was HEAVENLY! x

I was told that I had dissolving stitches after my episiotomy. They didn't dissolve and kept tugging, it was agony worse than childbirth itself

GP took them out and the relief was unbelievable.

Yes it's normal . Pinches and feels tight for few days then eases
