Is it something you take long term? I've just finished my first months supply and realised I wasn't told to get a repeat?

Yes Dd 12 has 3 enemas a week down the distal end of her colostomy it has really helped with her colitis. Has had them for the last 3 years.
Good luck.

Yes I do - been on them for years now.

It took me ages to get my head round the fact it was forever!
Are you newly diagnosed with UC?

DubiousCredentials · 15/08/2017 20:41

Yes I do and they are a permanent fixture. I tried stopping and my symptoms were back within a week.

Maybe ask your doctor? I tend to prescribe a short course to start and see if symptoms stay away when its stopped. If they return then I prescribe more. That way you avoid being on them forever if you dont need to be. Some people do need to be though.
