Hi
My wife (early fifties) has really bad varicose veins on her legs. They don't bother me but it's clear from a couple of conversations we've had recently that they are really getting her down and she is not the sort of person to let things get to her generally so if she tells me she's upset about something I know she really is upset.
I've got some savings maturing soon and was looking at the possible options that might be available for her so that we could then talk it through and let her decide what she wanted to do. However, having had a browse through threads on here it seems that operations/treatments are often not particularly effective, can be complicated and have downsides.
Can anyone with experience or specialist professional knowledge help me out here? Is this something she is just going to have to accept or are there genuinely viable options worth looking at? We're in the UK if that is relevant.
