Could a nasal allergy kick off a cold that ive got now?

as im permantly having it and fed up!! i had a blood test last month to check any allergies as permantly got a tight throbbing headache and sinuses...now gotta wait for a CAT scan

My friends say to me that i must catch every virus that is going round - i bloody know!!

Its possible. It could be your adenoids though. Get them checked.

but i do feel ive got phelgm at the back of my throat but the ENT specialist had a look and nothing there!

Allergies that affect your nasal passages can cause rhinitis. A condition where your nose is constantly runny with clear secretions. This can mimick a cold. I get hideous sinus headaches and eye socket pain when my sinuses are triggered by an allergy. Is that what you mean?

yes and also get a tight head and tender sinuses on my face..also have a cold every 5 minutes!! !!!ggrrr

As Jolopy this sounds more rhinitis.

I have been like since i was about 6months old my mum was told i would grow out of it by i was 14. I am now 37 and although it lot better i still have periods where i can have a flare up that can last months. Cost a fortune in tissues

they couldnt pick up any allergies...cant remember what they were two but he did 2 tests and both are long words!!

the scan is gonna see what going on behind my sinuses etc

ok, another thought have you had skin test done, for pollens, cats,house dust mites.

ALso have you had any injuries to your nose, i only ask because my mum had a car accident and injured her nose and now has nasel/ sinuses problems.

yes was tested for those and YES i was injured many years ago on my nose and slowly over the years ive had problems with sinuses, headaches, tight head etc... even hadmy cartridges shaved too as my nose was slightly bent (got hit). Now they are saying that i may have an allergy now and cud be a coincidence with me getting hit on my nose...ive never had any cold and probs with my nose.
