Question about asking GP for a referrel to someone who actually know's what to do!

I've got severe SPD, still difficult to walk for any sort of distance, and in pain constantly.
I have not been to see GP for a few months now, as I got sick of being told there was nothing they can do.

So, I was thinking of asking for a referrel (sp?). Does the GP have to refer if patient wants to, and where would i be referred to for a problem like this?

Thanks

I had physio for 4months (my allowence lol) and it didn't help me at all. Could I ask for other treatment, oesteopath etc?
