Post carpol tunnel surgery numbness

I had carpol tunnel surgery 10 days ago in my left hand the problem is my thumb is always numb and stiff I can move it but it does no feel any better (it was not like this before op) the surgeon said the nerve was very tight also my little finger and ring finger go extremely numb in the night but when I wiggle them they get better I still have my stitches in so not useing hand much but regularly do the finger exercises I was told to do will this get better or has there been some nerve damage

Little and ring finger (half of it) are a different nerve, it shouldn't be from your surgery.

10 days isn't very long, you could have numbness for months, but different to the numbness before the surgery.

Who's removing your stitches? If it's a Dr I'd ask them for advice.

Thanks it's the district nurse that will be taking my stitches out on fri if it's no better after thar then will see gp
